vision & mission

Emmaus Road Church is committed to making and multiplying disciples of Jesus who will have an impact on our community and to the nations.

We have found inspiration in the Emmaus Road story from Luke 24:13-35, where we see Jesus coming along side and engaging people graciously, directing their attention to the necessity and achievement of the cross, through the story line of the Bible, in the relational setting of table fellowship.

Therefore our aim is to

  • Cultivate a culture of grace where gospel doctrine, plus a “safe” environment where sinners can admit their needs and their sorrows without being humiliated, plus time where sinners can rethink their lives without pressure, might engender gospel culture where transformation can take place
  • Help each other orient our lives to God’s story line
  • Preach, and lead from God’s Word
  • Balance head AND heart
  • Practice hospitality

Our strategy includes gathering (including corporate worship on Sundays, and during the week in both missional communities and discipleship huddles) and scattering (we seek to encourage and support one another to live as missionaries, right where we are, day in, and day out).

Our vision includes developing leaders who will be equipped to plant and lead churches, not only in our region, but also to nations through international partnerships.
