Explore the ways we share our lives together in gospel communities in Sioux Falls.
Gospel Communities & Discipleship Huddles
Gospel Communities are made up of 10–20 adults (plus kids!) who share their lives together—from homes and hobbies to meals and mowers. In these communities, the internal transformation of the Gospel becomes visible as we practice hospitality, bear each other’s burdens, serve our neighbors, and grow in faith together.
Opportunity for deeper growth is available in Discipleship Huddles. Huddles are groups of 3-5 people of the same gender who meet regularly to care for one another through a few simple, intentional habits. We hear and obey God’s Word, repent and believe the Gospel, and plan and pray to live as witnesses to the world.
Bridge: Explore the Christian Faith
Why does God allow suffering? Can we really trust the Bible? Is Jesus the only way? The Bridge Course is designed to help answer these questions and explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening environment over ten weeks. Each week starts with a meal followed by a brief talk covering questions we all wrestle with. After the talk is a 30-minute discussion where you can ask questions or simply sit back and listen. All viewpoints are welcome, and no one will ever call on you. The Bridge is low-key, low-pressure, and a lot of fun.
Core Seminars
We offer a variety of classes (called Core Seminars) to help you grow in your faith.
First Steps is an 8-week course designed to help you experience more of the abundant life available to you in Jesus. No matter what your church background, or how long you have (or have not!) been a believer, the material we will cover will help you walk with Jesus more closely and more deeply.
Foundations is an 8-week course that introduces you to Emmaus Road Church and some of our foundational convictions that shape the way we live together in missional community.
Other Core Seminars include Systematic Theology, The Christian Family, Spiritual Gifts, Evangelism and Apologetics, and more.
Kids & Teens
Emmaus Road Kids provides care and age-appropriate Biblical instruction for children 15 months through pre-school. Our desire is that the children of Emmaus Road Church hear God’s voice through His Word, learning to trust His promises more and more.
G2 (for “two generations”) is our parent and teen ministry for middle and high school students. Psalm 145:4 says, “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.” The aim of G2 is to build teens into Christ, into their parents, and into the church. We do this through teaching gatherings, teen small groups, summer retreats, and other parent-led activities.
Leadership Development
Our mission to multiply disciples involves developing leaders who are equipped to plant and lead churches in our region, across the country, and to the nations. We offer opportunities for supervised training, experience, and evaluation.
Counseling
Biblical counseling is personal and intensive discipleship rooted in the conviction that God’s Word sufficiently addresses all of our problem emotions and behaviors. We believe real and lasting change occurs when people know themselves and their problems within a living and vital relationship with Jesus Christ. Whether you need help overcoming an addiction, resolving relational conflict, or experiencing freedom from anxiety, depression or anger, our Biblical counselors are available to point you to Jesus Christ for hope and lasting change.
